Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a transformative floor-based treatment that combines deep-tissue massage with coordinated breathwork and assisted yoga stretches. This ancient Indian healing practice creates profound peace and harmony in the body by aligning energy channels and releasing deep-held tension.
I trained with The Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Institute in Ibiza, achieving my Level 3 and 4 qualifications. What I love most about this practice is how it brings together the full body experience - the deep massage work combined with yoga stretching creates something truly special. As a yoga instructor, being able to integrate these flowing movements into the massage makes each session a complete journey of relaxation and renewal.
Developed by master Kusum Modak, who studied with the legendary BKS Iyengar, this unique treatment will relieve pain, prevent injuries, increase circulation and mobility, and stimulate your lymphatic and nervous systems to help you truly relax.
This full-body treatment offers:
Deep muscle tension release and pain relief
Improved flexibility and range of motion
Enhanced circulation and lymphatic drainage
Reduced stress and profound relaxation
Better body awareness and posture
Energetic balancing through the chakra system
A sense of being calm and centred
Your massage takes place in our calm, warm, private studio in Nannerch, Flintshire - a little piece of zen and tranquillity. You'll lie on a comfortable floor mat as I use flowing movements, coordinated with your breath, to massage your entire body using nourishing oils. The treatment includes assisted yoga stretches that help release tension and improve flexibility.
I use a blend of massage oils with soya bean and wheatgerm (though traditionally sesame oil is used in Ayurvedic practice). The oil nourishes your skin while allowing smooth, flowing movements across your body.
The complete Ayurvedic Yoga Massage experience. This is my recommended option, especially for first-timers, as it allows time for the full treatment to work its magic throughout your entire body.
A focused treatment targeting specific areas of tension or concern. Perfect for maintenance sessions or when you need targeted work on particular areas such as back, shoulders, legs, or wherever you need it most.

Where are you located?
The Garage Yoga Studio, Nannerch, Flintshire - a peaceful, private space designed for relaxation and healing.
How often should I have treatments?
This depends on your individual needs. Some people benefit from regular monthly treatments for maintenance and wellbeing, while others may want more frequent sessions if addressing specific issues. We can discuss what would work best for you.
How will I feel afterwards?
Most people feel deeply relaxed, with a sense of lightness and ease in their body. You may feel more mobile and flexible, and many people report sleeping very well after treatment. Some people experience emotional release as tension is freed from the body. Every person's experience is unique.
What makes Ayurvedic Yoga Massage different from regular massage?
Unlike table-based massage, AYM is performed on the floor, which allows me to use my body weight and flowing movements more effectively. The treatment also incorporates assisted yoga stretches and is coordinated with your breathing, creating a more dynamic and holistic experience. It addresses body, mind, and spirit together.
I've never had this type of massage before - which option should I choose?
I recommend the 90-minute full body treatment for your first experience. This gives you time to receive the complete treatment and really understand what Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is all about. The 45-minute option works well for follow-up sessions or when you want focused work on specific areas.
Is this treatment suitable for everyone?
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is not suitable during pregnancy. If you have any injuries, recent surgery, or health conditions, please let me know when booking so we can discuss whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
What should I wear during the treatment?
Please wear comfortable underwear, knickers/underpants, or swim shorts. The treatment is performed with minimal clothing to allow the oil and massage techniques to work effectively across your body.
What should I do before my appointment?
Please shower before arriving, as this is a full-body oil massage. Avoid eating a heavy meal within 2 hours of your treatment, and arrive with enough time to relax and settle in.
Do you have shower facilities?
I don't have shower facilities at the studio, so please shower before you arrive. You'll leave with nourishing oil on your skin.
What should I do after my treatment?
Take it easy! After your massage, you should relax, drink plenty of water, and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day. This allows your body to fully integrate the benefits of the treatment. The oil is nourishing for your skin, so you may wish to leave it on for a few hours if possible.
